Bob Donahue - Director
Mr. Donahue is the President and Founder of By Light. His in–depth expertise in the Government Telecommunication Sector has been the driving force behind the rapid growth of the company. Prior to joining the By Light Team, Mr. Donahue served as the Program Manager for the DISN Expansion Program, the first Government owned transport infrastructure. His experiences include extensive real world experience in both tactical and strategic telecommunications support with the DoD. Mr. Donahue has a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science.
Mike Abrashoff- Director
Mike Abrashoff, former Naval Commander and assistant to the Secretary of Defense, the Honorable Dr. William S. Perry, is one of the world’s most dynamic and sought after speakers and authors on the topic of leadership. During Mike’s service he co–drafting the air defense plan for naval forces in the Persian Gulf in 1990, coinciding with Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait. He was Commander of USS Benfold, which became regarded as the finest in the Pacific Fleet and won the prestigious Spokane Trophy for having the highest degree of combat readiness. Mike has authored two best–selling books on leadership; It’s Your Ship and Get Your Ship Together.
Matt Milstead- Director
Mr. Milstead has spent nearly 20 years in leadership roles for an array of companies with domestic US and international operations. He has considerable experience in entrepreneur start–up and early stage growth companies spanning such industries as commercial real estate development, retail, construction, trade and telecommunications. Matt has successfully lead several companies through financial and operational restructurings and has sat on the Boards of a multitude of companies as well as held executive positions including those of President and CEO. Matt holds an Engineering degree from Virginia Tech and a Masters from George Washington University in Administration.
Jack Mencia – Director
For over 25 years, Jack Mencia has been involved in the government services industry. Jack was the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Cube Corporation and built the company to over $115 million in revenues with over 1500 employees prior to its acquisition in 2005. The Cube Corporation was recognized as the Fastest Growing Hispanic–Owned Company in the United
States in 2000, received the Virginia Vanguard Award for Top Service Company in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2001 and 2002, and was listed number fifty–one on Hispanic Business Magazine’s Hispanic Business 500. Jack serves on the Board of Directors of Washington First Bank, is an investor partner with Venture Philanthropy Partners (VPP) and is the Chairman and CEO of an IT
outsourcing company he acquired. He received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Greater Washington Area in 2000 and the Hispanic Business Magazine’s Nationwide Entrepreneur of the Year in 2001.
